About the Event

The GOOD Holiday Ball  is our annual celebration of community, culture, and purpose;  bringing together leaders, partners, and changemakers for an unforgettable evening of impact. Held at the Rubell Museum in Washington, DC, the Ball marks the high point of our Season of Giving, uniting supporters around the shared goal of creating opportunity for youth and families in Washington, DC, and beyond.


Proceeds from the Holiday Ball directly support GOODProjects, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering families to break the cycle of poverty and achieve lasting success. Through programs in education, health, housing, and economic opportunity, GOODProjects is building pathways to the middle class,  starting in Southwest, DC, and expanding to the youth and families we support in Nairobi, Kenya.

Honorees

Wale

GOOD Cultural Impact Award Recipient

A native son of Washington, DC, Wale has become far more than a chart-topping artist; he’s a cultural cornerstone of the city. Through his music, authenticity, and advocacy, Wale has given voice to the experiences, resilience, and brilliance of the DMV community.


His artistry transcends entertainment, inspiring and empowering audiences worldwide while staying deeply connected to his roots. With initiatives like Gifted Week, Wale continues to invest in the next generation of creators, proving that culture and community go hand in hand. His impact embodies the spirit of the GOOD Cultural Impact Award: Art in service of empowerment and change.


Ami Aronson

Executive Director

Bernstein Family Foundation

Ami Aronson steers the Bernstein Family Foundation with compassion, clarity, and a strong dedication to community-driven change. Under her guidance, the Foundation builds on its long-standing tradition of strategic giving—supporting programs that strengthen families, uplift young people, and weave resilience into the Washington, DC community.


Ami champions trust-based philanthropy, empowering grassroots organizations like GOODProjects with the freedom and flexibility to thrive. Her philanthropic philosophy is intentional and people-centered, grounded in the belief that true, lasting transformation begins by investing

in individuals and the solutions they lead.

Mark Young

Director

Amazon Foundational Security Services

Mark Young brings heart and purpose to his leadership at Amazon, where he serves as Director of Foundational Security Services. Beyond his corporate role, Mark is deeply committed to strengthening communities across Washington, DC, leveraging Amazon’s resources to make a real, lasting impact where it’s needed most.


 His organization’s partnership with GOODProjects reflects his belief that corporate responsibility means more than giving; it means showing up. Through his leadership and advocacy, Mark helps bridge the gap between business and community, setting an inspiring example of how collaboration can drive opportunity, equity, and empowerment

for families across the District.

Brian Mihelic

President/Founder

Washington DC Youth Rugby

As President and founder of Washington DC Youth Rugby, Brian Mihelic leads with passion and purpose, using the game of rugby to teach life lessons that reach far beyond the field. Under his leadership, the organization has become a powerful force for youth development in Washington, DC—opening doors for kids to learn teamwork, discipline, and resilience.


Each week, Brian personally teaches rugby at GOODCamp, mentoring students and building confidence through the sport he loves. His partnership with GOODProjects reflects his belief that every young person deserves access to opportunity, guidance, and the joy of belonging to a team.

Reggie Van Lee

Co-Chair

Reggie Van Lee is a celebrated philanthropist, strategist, and arts advocate whose career has been defined by visionary leadership and deep community commitment. As a seasoned executive and longtime supporter of cultural and social impact initiatives, Reggie brings a unique blend of corporate insight and heart-centered generosity to everything he touches.


His passion for empowering others and championing Black excellence aligns perfectly with GOODProjects’ mission. As Co-Chair of the 2025 GOOD Holiday Ball, Reggie continues his lifelong work of bringing people together across sectors to create opportunity, inspire action, and build a more equitable Washington, DC.

Gloria Ann Nauden

Co-Chair

Gloria Ann Nauden is a creative powerhouse whose career has been defined by blending commerce, culture, and community to drive meaningful change. With a deep understanding of how connections design and shape society, Gloria has championed countless initiatives that amplify local voices and celebrate entrepreneurship, creativity, and leadership.


Her brand reflects an unwavering belief that culture is not just something we consume, but something we build together. As Co-Chair of the GOOD Holiday Ball, Gloria brings her signature style, insight, and community-centered vision to an evening that honors the beauty of giving and the power of collective impact.

Alex Vaughn

Singer, songwriter, pianist, and producer Alex Vaughn hails from Prince George’s County, Maryland, blending soulful R&B with raw honesty and emotion. Classically trained yet deeply authentic, her music bridges technical skill with heartfelt storytelling. Rising from social media covers to sharing stages with artists like Eric Bellinger and K. Michelle, Alex continues to define the next wave of soulful R&B.

Omar Vacel

A Jamaican-American artist from Maryland, Omar Vacel fuses R&B and soul with the richness of his heritage and the honesty of real-life experience. His smooth vocals and emotive songwriting explore themes of love, resilience, and connection, creating music that feels both timeless and deeply personal. Rooted in family and community,

Omar represents a new generation of artists using authenticity and heart to shape the sound of modern soul.

Frédéric Yonnet

French-born harmonica virtuoso Frédéric Yonnet redefines the instrument with a bold fusion of jazz, funk, soul, and hip-hop. His sound, featured in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman and Killers of the Flower Moon, and collaborations with legends like Stevie Wonder and Prince, showcase his unmatched skill and commanding stage presence.

Layla Bunch

Seventeen-year-old Layla Bunch is a rising opera and musical theater talent from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC. Her powerful voice and stage presence have already made her a standout performer, most recently featured in the Culture on the Corner showcase during DC’s Art All Night festival. With a passion that began in childhood and continues to grow, Layla represents the brilliance and creativity of the next generation of artists.

TOB

Founded in 2004, TOB has become one of the DMV’s most dynamic go-go bands, known for its signature “Crank of the Bounce Beat” sound that blends contemporary rhythms with nostalgic grooves. Rooted in Washington, D.C.’s proud go-go tradition, the group has spent more than a decade using music as a force for unity and peace in a city often defined by its challenges. Honored with awards including “Band of the Year” at the D.C. Go-Go Awards, TOB continues to captivate audiences and uplift communities through electrifying performances and initiatives that celebrate both culture and connection.

Rubell Museum

The Rubell Museum is one of the nation’s most influential contemporary art institutions, with landmark locations in Miami and Washington, D.C.’s Southwest Waterfront.


Founded by Don and Mera Rubell, who began collecting art in the 1960s while living in New York, the museum evolved from a modest personal passion into one of the world’s most significant private collections. Guided by a belief that art should inspire dialogue and connection, the Rubells have built a space that champions bold, boundary-pushing artists and fosters cultural exchange, making it a fitting setting for the GOOD Holiday Ball’s celebration of creativity and community.
